Position Overview:

As the Production Manager, you will oversee production scheduling, work assignments, reporting, and inventory management. Your leadership will be pivotal in fostering a safe work environment, implementing effective policies, and driving continuous improvements in production methods, equipment, and working conditions. You will be on-call and may need to respond to plant needs during off-duty hours.

You will champion and advocate for safety policies and programs on the plant floor, ensuring a secure working environment. Strive for continuous improvement in plant production across all areas, balancing quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale. Identify and mitigate hazardous conditions from human error and machine operations, preventing injuries and property damage. Recommend and implement changes to boost productivity, reduce costs, and minimize waste. Ensure proper staffing based on production needs, managing downtime for maintenance and handling employee absences efficiently. Approve timecards, conduct performance evaluations, coach employees, and administer discipline as needed. Maintain constructive working relationships and exhibit a professional manner in all interactions. Provide leadership and training to meet plant goals and foster a culture of success with a focus on shop floor organization and plant cleanliness.

Qualifications:

A proven record of safety excellence and production management, strong organizational and leadership skills, proficiency in communication (both written and verbal), computer literacy, and technical capacity. Ability to solve problems effectively and maintain personal effectiveness and credibility. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred. Supervisory experience in a paper converting facility and demonstrated leadership in a production environment is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to be on your feet for up to 12 hours per day. Regularly lift/move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
