Position Overview:
As a System Administrator / Software Developer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of our IT infrastructure while actively contributing to the development of software solutions. This position demands a unique blend of system administration skills, software development expertise, and a deep understanding of Linux and VMware technologies.

Responsibilities:

1. **System Administration:**
   - Administer, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Ubuntu, CentOS) and VMware virtualization environments.
   - Implement security measures and conduct routine system monitoring and optimization.
   - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate systems and applications.

2. **Software Development:**
   - Develop software solutions using Python and Ruby to automate tasks and enhance system efficiency.
   - Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of custom applications and tools.
   - Troubleshoot and debug software and system issues.

3. **Virtualization Expertise:**
   - Deploy, configure, and manage VMware vSphere and ESXi environments.
   - Optimize virtual infrastructure performance and troubleshoot virtualization-related issues.

4. **Collaboration:**
   - Work closely with DevOps and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of software solutions and system administration tasks.
   - Participate in agile development methodologies and collaborate with team members on projects.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a System Administrator and Software Developer.
- Proficiency in Linux administration (Ubuntu, CentOS) and shell scripting.
- Strong programming skills in Python and Ruby.
- Experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and related virtualization technologies.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.

Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet).
- Understanding of networking protocols and security best practices.

Compensation:
$95 -$150k yearly
Based on experience and skill set
