What we offer:

· Salary: $44,000 - $46,000

Job Functions:

The Volunteer Services Manager is a member of the donor experience cross functional team and is responsible for helping to plan and implement all efforts related to recruitment, cultivation, training, equipping, organizing, and retention of volunteers to support the mission and vision of Metropolitan Ministries and growing impact in Pasco County.


Essential Responsibilities:


Volunteer Services Management:

  1. This position is based out of our West Pasco campus in Holiday, FL but supports our East Pasco campus in Dade City.
  2. Identify, communicate, and organize weekly volunteer needs through the volunteer schedule including identification of VIP groups, and adjustment for departmental special requests.
  3. Work with departments to fulfill their volunteer needs, identify gaps in volunteer utilization, and solicit budget offsetting special projects.
  4. Lead the Volunteer Coordinator(s) in the strategy for onboarding, recruiting, orientation, to ensure high quality, Metro-branded volunteer experiences across Pasco County sites


Group Strategy & Pasco Growth:

  1. Manage and develop the process to identify, advance, and retain, highly engaged volunteers to take on leadership roles at Metropolitan Ministries.
  2. Plan and execute a Pasco County focused group volunteering strategy for partnership development, stewardship, and staff needs.
  3. Develop and implement a cross functional strategy for Pasco group engagement that includes Advancement, In-Kind, Grants, and Special Event capacity.


Holiday Engagement & Special Events:

  1. Manage VIP groups, donors, and Volunteer Coordinators in recruitment, orientation, and implementation of seasonal Holiday needs.
  2. Work with Advancement and Event teams to coordinate volunteer needs and high engagement opportunities throughout the year (Backpacks of Hope, Pasco Leadership Luncheon, Business Breakfast, Food Fight, Bridge Builders, etc.).
  3. Oversee special engagement opportunities for groups (primarily corporate) throughout the year.
Requirements:

Education and Experience:

A minimum of a bachelor's degree, preferably in social sciences or business fields. Two to five years of volunteer coordination/management, personnel, or related experience, with supervisory experience highly desired.

Skill Requirements:

Heart for ministry and comfort working with poor and homeless individuals and families. Highly computer literate with strong background In Office 365 applications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to work both independently as an energetic self-starter and within a multi-disciplinary framework. Ability to articulate Metropolitan Ministries' mission, program, and needs to the community to both individuals and large groups. Excellent organizational skills, high attention to detail, ability to plan events and maintain systems in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Demonstrates maturity and sensitivity to issues of faith, culture, and other sources of diversity.

Physical Requirements:

Hearing and speaking ability which allows for effective oral communication. Physical, emotional, and spiritual stamina to handle job-related issues and stress. Ability to regularly walk volunteers around campus. Physically able to work in outdoor/temporary shelter environment considering the local climate and its normal fluctuations.

Other:

Must demonstrate legal authorization to work in the US. Must pass applicable pre-employment level II background screening. Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule during the holidays (October-December), on weekends, evenings, and special events.
