Shifts Available:
- 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (occasional overtime before/after hours or Saturday)
- 2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 3:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. (training on 1st shift required; occasional Friday overtime)

We are currently seeking Experienced Welders to join our team on 1st and 2nd shift.
Job Summary
As a Welder at SMT, you will layout, fit, and weld metal components to specifications to create sub-assemblies and final products. This role requires the ability to read blueprints, work independently, and maintain high quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret complex blueprints and sketches to determine layout and welding processes.
- Set up and operate welding, grinding, and cutting equipment.
- Prepare and assemble parts and sub-assemblies according to specifications.
- Inspect finished work to ensure it meets quality standards.
- Maintain accurate production records and paperwork.
- Keep a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of MIG welding experience in a manufacturing setting.
Skills & Abilities
- Proficient in reading complex blueprints and performing detailed math calculations.
- Strong knowledge of welding and grinding tools, including calipers and micrometers.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must pass a respiratory medical evaluation, respirator training, and fit test before first day.
Work Environment
- Frequent exposure to manufacturing elements such as noise, fumes, heat, and dust.
- Use of personal protective equipment is required (weld shield/helmet, etc.).
Supervision & Decision-Making
- No direct supervision responsibilities.
- Requires moderate independent judgment to solve operational problems within company policies.
